Professor Parag Singhal, OBE

FRCP (London) | Executive Leader – BAPIO Training Academy


Professor Parag Singhal OBE is a distinguished UK-based consultant endocrinologist with over three decades of clinical and teaching experience. He specializes in diabetes, thyroid disease, metabolic medicine, and reproductive endocrinology, and consults at leading centres including Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital, Weston General Hospital, and Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital.

A graduate of Jiwaji University, he completed MRCP (London) in 1995, pursued additional training in the United States, and completed his higher specialist training and MPhil at Newcastle before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2004. Since 2000, he has served as a Consultant Physician at Weston Hospital under Bristol Teaching Hospitals.

Professor Singhal is widely recognised for his expertise in thyroid disorders, particularly hypothyroidism, and has developed a large national patient base due to his successful, personalized treatment approaches and high patient satisfaction.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led a landmark telemedicine initiative through BAPIO, offering virtual specialist support to junior doctors in India — a contribution nationally acknowledged in the UK.
In 2025, he was honoured with an OBE for his outstanding services to healthcare, medical education, and for championing equality for ethnic minority doctors.

Dr. Suneeta Teckchandani is a senior Consultant Acute Physician at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and a nationally recognised leader in acute medicine training and postgraduate medical education. With a unique combination of frontline clinical expertise, examiner insight, and educational leadership, she brings exceptional value to doctors preparing for high-stakes postgraduate examinations and acute care practice.

As a MRCP PACES Examiner and College Tutor, Dr. Teckchandani has an in-depth understanding of what examiners look for and how candidates can perform with confidence under pressure. Her roles as Care Unit Governance Lead and Clinical Co-Lead for Acute Medicine further strengthen her teaching, ensuring it is grounded in real-world clinical decision-making, patient safety, and quality-driven care.

Dr. Teckchandani has completed a Fellowship in Quality Governance and is deeply involved in simulation-based education, helping trainees translate theory into safe, effective bedside practice. She is also an Accredited BSE Level 2 Echocardiography practitioner and a highly experienced instructor in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS), delivering practical, hands-on training that directly improves clinical confidence and performance.
